A scholar and recluse who learned the secrets of Taoism in AD750 , he attained immortality at the age of fifty. He is the patron saint of barbers and is worshiped by the sick. His emblem is the fly-whisk and a sword of supernatural powers is usually hung on his back. He uses a sword to overcome evil spirits and slice through bad energies caused by bad "chi" energy.
